Anna’s MRI Update 2
At 9:05 a.m. this morning I called the doctor’s office about Anna’s MRI results. Frankly, knowing me, you should all be amazed that I didn’t call at 9:00 a.m. on the dot. I’m trying to be more restrained in my adulthood, really.
I got through to a nurse who had Anna’s file in front of her. I’m happy and relieved to say that I was told that Anna’s brain MRI is normal. There appears to be no other structures in her eyes or brain involved with what they are now calling “soft-tissue – likely a dermoid cyst”. Whohoo!
I was given the number for a plastic surgeon at Children’s who can remove the cyst, but was told that it is not necessary that we make an appointment immediately. I’m pretty sure that this will not be covered by our insurance, so we need to check into that and think about when we want to have it removed. At this point we simply need to make sure that it does not grow (it will grow apparently) so much that it obstructs Anna’s vision in her right eye.
The Colorado Springs newspaper ran a story this morning about a child born with a tumor that turned out to be parts of an absorbed twin, so let’s all be grateful that Anna’s cyst doesn’t appear to be that kind of bump… Gross!
Thanks to all of you for your well wishes and support!

They say that those cysts can be anything, including soft tissue, hair or teeth. I doubt it’s made up of Anna’s twin, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s her first tooth. You said yourself that she’s teething. You know it could be true.

Wow, I’m so glad it isn’t anything worse than something a dermatologist can take care off!
