I love your poem. You should put more of them on your blog from time to time for my amusement. :) I did the same teens/twenties poetry thing...went to open mic poetry readings at a place called Cafe Bliss back in Texas every Thursday night. ee cummings was a definite favorite, and my little book of his poems is still one of my favorites. For me, poetry still comes back from time to time, like the flu. I am struck with a need to sculpt and weave little arrangements of words for a week or two, and then it passes. It's like visiting an old friend. I love it, but the need to create little poems is demanding, and I am sort of glad to see it go. Then I miss it when it's gone and look forward to its eventual return. I would like to read some of your other ones sometime. It's been a while since I put any of mine on my blog (or anything else for that matter) but you might find some creative writing on there if you want to look.
